Christmas Is Here.

Decorations are in all the shop windows
and seasonal music is all we can hear.
Pretty lights shine, in the town centre
it’s starting to feel like Christmas is here.

Plans are being made for friends to meet
with promise of food, whisky and beer.
Lots of the neighbours are putting up trees
it’s starting to feel like Christmas is here.

Soldiers seem to be coming home on leave
with kisses for loved ones, as they shed a tear.
People are travelling, to be with families
it’s starting to feel like Christmas is here.

The children are practicing the nativity play
we all love so much, at this time of year.
Choirs can be heard singing some carols
it’s starting to feel like Christmas is here.

In a day or two the Turkey will be cooking
with that lovely aroma we all hold so dear.
Excited children will have opened presents
then we’ll be saying Christmas is here!
